As a personal trainer I think that it's important that if I recommend any kind of service, or supplement, or training technique, that I've used, taken or perfomed it myself! For obvious reasons. It gives clients piece of mind to know that you've had first hand experince with something. Particulary with hypnotherpy I certainly wouldn't have recommended it to anyone having not gone 'under' myself.

My own reasons for having hypnothearpy are however different to the needs of some of my clients but having learnt about how the mind works its easy to see how this method can change the way that your brain proccesses information.

Many people believe hypnosis or trance states to be associated with TV shows or smokey pubs with people walking around like chickens or swinging their hips around like Elvis. The reality however is that this method can rebuild lives, it really has amazed me. Whether you have a need to give up an addiction, find it hard to avoid fatty foods, need to gain more confidence, want to train harder in the gym or just need more focus at work, hypnosis can put you on the right road, but you need to want to take that step and go for the help in the first instance.

As my hypnotherapist told me: "although the flesh is willing the mind is sometimes weak, so try to use the simplest (and healthiest) route to success". So very true and this comes into play so much if we think about exercise, motivation and reaching our goals.

The most naturally receptive part of the mind is the ‘subconscious’. By definition, we are unaware of the flow of ideas that go on there. It is the seat of all emotions, and therefore the best place to work to rally determination and will. The best athletes are the ones with natural skill AND endurance. Endurance comes from motivation. Sometimes we start off motivated and then flag.

If you have problems with you weight, then you could certainly try hypnosis to take your mind in other directions when you come to craving bad calorie foods.

As a starting point my members area features a trance hypnotherpy file weight loss file which was created especially for this site. Aside from that, a full consultation is advisable with a qualified hypnotherapist who with establish exactly what is causing your weight increase. Is it just about food or are there other underlying factors that have forced you into a snowball effect that you're finding it hard to reverse.

If you are interested in a telephone consultation with my own hynotherapist which will then follow onto a personalised development programme (via MP3 files) then please email me at simon@theheatfitness.co.uk - I can certainly say she's done wonders for me and using the same methods she can do the same for you. If you are in the Devon/Exeter area of the UK then you will be able to see her in person.
